No one can deny that they don’t love holiday time. For me! Alas. I love to spend all holidays in decorating and baking my family’s favorite holiday recipes and also shopping for special gifts for my specials. As you know children are toddler and they don’t have a great deal of money to spend on toys for Christmas. In fact you should try to get something special for everyone. But it will be better for if you include some practical items as gifts for them.

This meant that stocking stuffers usually included socks and underwear instead of luxury items. You can bring some new clothes for the children. Most of the toys for Christmas that our children received were from their grandparents. This worked out well because it gave the children something to do during the holiday time that was spent at the grandparent’s houses. This is why many grandparents love to provide the toys to their grand children in Christmas, because they have sound financial resources.

In fact when I was in such little stage, I love these toys given by my Grand parents. But today everything has been changed. Everything is either electronic or battery operated. However you can find gifts for your children and your families as you have decided. You can give them more than material things as you want to give them a means to spend family time together. How ever it will be the best idea to decide to make family gift baskets instead of buying toys for children and clothing for adults in this Christmas. Certainly you and your children will enjoy by playing together at get together Christmas holiday time. You can give more fun to your children and able to give full family time together at a water park also. However we have booked reservations for ourselves at the water park this Christmas year. We also bought a board game for each family as well as a card game. We placed the reservation confirmation, the games and microwave popcorn in a big basket. We also put in a gift certificate for a chain delivery pizza place.

On Christmas the children are very excited about their full weekend proposal together at the forthcoming Christmas year. You can tell them that you are also coming along with them so that you can baby sit in the evening. Even you can invite them go out for dinner together. This will be a great idea in this forthcoming Christmas holiday. However I don’t want to miss my opportunity to spend my days along with our family in this Christmas. Will you the same?

I love everything about the season. I live in Minnesota so this is the time of year when we begin to have snow on the ground and ice on the lakes. It is a beautiful time to begin with, then as people begin adding outdoor Christmas decorations the neighborhoods become magical. I love to take walks at dusk and watch the lights come on creating a winter wonderland before my eyes. Although I love Christmas I am very particular about outdoor Christmas decorations. My favorite decorations are the use of lights in trees and bushes in the yards. I am not a fan of the huge blow up snowmen and Santa’s or the cartoon characters that are dressed to look like Santa Claus.

When I was growing up the neighbor across the road from us had a huge pine tree. Each year he would use extension ladders to place the strands of large colored bulbs in the tree. The project would take him and his sons several hours to complete and the end result was a lit tree that could be seen a half mile away. He did not believe in leaving the outdoor Christmas decorations on the tree over the summer. He would put them on the day after Thanksgiving and remove them a few days after the beginning of the New Year. This was a great deal of work, compared to plugging in a ten foot snowman, but the lit tree was awesome for others to enjoy. It was very touching to everyone the year that the neighbor’s wife died. He placed all blue lights on the tree that year to let us know he would be having a blue Christmas. He told my mother that it was helpful to him and a remembrance to his wife.

One of my neighbors knows that I dislike the gaudy outdoor Christmas decorations. He is always looking for practical jokes to play. Last year when he knew that my husband and I were going to be gone for the day he decorated our yard with several lit Christmas lawn ornaments. He had purchased several old outdoor Christmas decorations throughout the summer at garage sales. He had extension cords running from one end of our yard to the other to get all the decorations lit. There was a full scene of the peanut characters, several Disney characters and a huge lit palm tree with lit pink flamingoes with Christmas lei’s around their necks. We could see the display a block before we arrived at our yard. Several neighbors were gathering in front of our house to look at the elaborate display. My neighbor sat at his living room window watching the scene. My husband and I are now plotting how we are going to out do his practical joke. The neighbor has a second home in Florida so we are trying to coordinate getting the outdoor Christmas decorations sent there. His brother-in-law has agreed to set them up in the yard.

Each year I tell myself that I am going to be more organized yet it does not seem to happen. Last year I bought several holiday gifts during the summer months. I had ideas for several people including a Christmas gift for grandparents. I was so confident that I was ahead of the rush that I put off going shopping until the week before Christmas. By then the crowds were unbelievable and the merchandize was picked over. Many of the things that I had in mind to purchase were out of stock. I was left fending off crowds and having to think up new gift ideas.

The Christmas gift for grandparents seems to be the most difficult item to get. My grandparents are in their late eighties and live in assisted living situations. I have three grandparents that are still alive. They are so pleased when they get visitors and they seem to love getting presents. I have tried to be practical with some of the Christmas gift for grandparents that I have come up with, but each year it becomes more difficult. My one grandmother loves to send greeting cards. She still sends each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren a card for their birthday and wedding anniversaries. This is over forty cards to send out annually.

Last year I bought her boxes of all occasion cards as well as books of stamps. She was very pleased with this gift because it saved her a trip to the store to buy them. This year I was going to go with the same concept. I had seen a card organizer several months before the holidays that I thought would be my Christmas gift for grandparents. The organizer had a calendar for each month. You could circle the days of the month that had a birthday or anniversary. Then there was a pocket to place the cards in for the month. For example in there was three birthdays and an anniversary in January you would circle the 4 days and place the cards in the pouch to remind you to send them out. When I was shopping the week before Christmas I could not find the organizers any where.

The mall had a list of gift ideas for different categories of people on your shopping list. Under the heading of Christmas gift for grandparents there were two items fruit baskets and gift certificates. None of my grandparents still drive, so I knew that a gift certificate would not be a good idea, so I headed over to the grocery store to buy fruit baskets.
